Watch the guide to finding a beard style that suits your face shape.
Which Beard Style Suits Your Face Shape?
The right beard style can help balance your facial proportions. Here’s how to choose a shape that works with your face.
Oval Face
An oval face is naturally balanced, so most beard styles work well. Try short stubble, a neat boxed beard or a fuller beard. Keep the cheek lines tidy and choose the length that suits your style.
Square Face
A square face has a strong, defined jaw. Keep the sides neat and add a little length at the chin if you want a more elongated look. A short boxed beard also works well if you prefer to emphasise the jaw.
Rectangle Face
A rectangular face is longer than it is wide. Avoid adding too much extra length below the chin. Keep the bottom relatively short and allow a little more fullness through the sides to balance the face.
Round Face
A round face tends to have softer angles. Keep the sides shorter and leave slightly more length at the chin to create definition. A well-shaped neckline and cheek line can help give the beard a more structured finish.
Diamond Face
A diamond face is widest at the cheekbones and narrower at the jaw. Try a beard with some fullness around the chin and lower jaw to create balance, rather than concentrating too much volume high on the cheeks.
Heart Face
A heart-shaped face is typically wider at the forehead and narrower at the chin. A fuller short beard through the jaw and chin can add balance. Avoid an overly long, pointed chin shape if you want to keep the look more even.
