The following provides you with an overview of the type of data collected and how it is used and passed on, the security measures Russell's Shave Club takes to protect your data and how you can exercise your rights.

 

Collection, use and storage of personal data

When you use the online offer, Russell's Shave Club collects different data from you, partly also so-called personal data. This is information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter "data subject").

Depending on the area concerned, Russell's Shave Club uses the personal data provided by you to answer your enquiries, to process your order and for the purpose of technical administration of the websites. In detail, the use in the respective areas follows as follows:

 

Online Shop

When you place an order in our online shop, we store the following information in order to fulfil the contract concluded between you and Russell's Shave Club or to carry out pre-contractual measures in accordance with Article 6 lit. b) GDPR:

 

a) Order without setting up a customer account

When placing an order in the online shop, all data necessary for execution and processing are requested by means of mandatory fields: Your full name, your e-mail address, your address (billing address and, if applicable, different delivery address). Your data will only be used to process your order.

 

b) Customer account / registration

It is also possible for you to register for your purchase at Russell's Shave Club. For this purpose, you can choose a password together with your e-mail address, both of which will enable you to log in more easily without having to enter your data again when you make a purchase at a later date. Russell's Shave Club stores the data you enter to set up a customer account through which your orders are recorded, executed and processed. Russell's Shave Club will hold your data for further orders as long as you maintain your registration. You have the right to access, correct or delete your registration data at any time.

 

c) Retention of order data

If you submit data to Russell's Shave Club for an order, your data will be stored for as long as necessary for the processing of the purchase and mandatory according to the legal retention periods. The extended storage for the fulfilment of the storage obligations is carried out according to article 6 lit. c) GDPR.

 

Contact Forms

If you contact Russell's Shave Club via a contact form on the Russell's Shave Club website, the data you provide will be stored so that your message can be forwarded to the correct contact person. Based on  Article 6 lit. f) GDPR Russell's Shave Club creates user profiles for the purpose of advertising, market research or for the demand-oriented design of the Russell's Shave Club online services if the user does not object to this. Your possibility to object is described in the individual technical measures.

 

Use of cookies

Cookies are used on our website for so-called behavioural targeting. These are text files by means of which data with usage information (websites visited, number of visits, visiting times, time spent on individual pages, etc.), i.e. usage profiles, are stored on your hard disk. These usage profiles are anonymised and evaluated in a technical (statistical) evaluation process in order to later enable a selection based on the interests of the respective user when Internet advertising (e.g. banners) is displayed on other websites. Under no circumstances will personal data such as name, address or e-mail address be stored in the cookies.

You can also prevent the storage of cookies in principle via the settings of your browser. However, it may then not be possible to display all of Russell's Shave Club's Internet pages completely and/or correctly.

Google Analytics

On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. GDPR) Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offer by the users is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

 

Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. In doing so, pseudonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data.

 

We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation activated. This means that the IP address of the user is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

 

The IP address transmitted by the user's browser will not be merged with other data from Google. Facebook Connect is a Facebook tool that allows Facebook users to log into other websites, apps and services using their Facebook account. Thus, the other service gains access to some of the preferences of the user’s Facebook account and social connections on which it can base its own products and services. Facebook may use data on how users use such other services in order to recognize visitors to our website on its services, which enables it to tailor its advertisements to the interests and preferences of the user. Facebook Custom Audiences enables us to use existing datasets to compile groups and lists of users based on certain criteria in order to provide users with information and advertisements, tailored to their interests and preferences, on Facebook’s services. Before transmission to Facebook, the data is irreversibly encrypted in the form of hash values on our computers; Facebook can compare these against its user databases. Facebook Lookalike Audiences

Facebook Lookalike Audiences enables us to use existing datasets to compile groups and lists of users based on certain criteria in order to provide users with similar interests and preferences with relevant information on Facebook’s services. Before transmission to Facebook, the data is irreversibly encrypted in the form of hash values (encrypted numeric values) on our computers. You can opt out of this form of advertising by changing the settings on the Facebook settings page.

Microsoft/ Bing MUID

These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator's permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. Quite often targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organisation.
